Explorations in Music

An in depth lecture/performance concert series with insightful perspectives on music's grand masters, and performances of the entire works being discussed, courtesy of the Alexander String Quartet!

Podcasting notes: There are current copyright restrictions on these programs that prevent me from making a podcast available. You can help me change that by sending me an email with "EIM podcast" in the subject line.

------------- Season 5, 2010: Antonin Dvorák -------------
The ASQ and lecturer/professor Robert Greenberg will explore the prolific and underrated composer Antonin Dvorák, whose folk-inspired melodic grace remains popular with general audiences, while his technical command continues to earn the respect of fellow musicians. He composed 14 string quartets and many other chamber works during his long career, making him — along with his mentor, Johannes Brahms — the most important composer of chamber music during the second half of the 19th century.

The programs are in production right now, meaning I'll be recording the live performance/lecture series through April, with an air date in the fall.
